Our AI Policy

Human-led, AI-assisted

The Nude House uses artificial intelligence as an editorial and production assistant. It does not replace human experience, judgment, authorship, or responsibility.

Marc remains responsible for everything published under The Nude House name. Our authors and editors decide what deserves to be said, which experiences and sources support it, which sentences feel true, and when a piece is ready for readers.

AI can help with the work. It cannot be the reason the work exists.

What we use AI for

We may use AI to:

  • question and organize an outline
  • compare drafts and identify repetition or gaps
  • help structure material supplied by a human author
  • support editing, translation, metadata, and production packaging
  • maintain the operational system behind articles and books
  • explore illustrations for fiction, imagined scenes, and selected visual concepts

These uses remain subject to human review. Fluency alone is not a quality standard.

What AI may not supply

AI may not invent the lived foundation of our work.

We do not permit it to fabricate:

  • personal experiences or memories
  • reader reactions, interviews, or quotations
  • evidence, citations, or sources
  • emotional revelations presented as lived truth
  • an author’s conviction when that author has supplied none

Every nonfiction piece must begin with a human source: an experience, observation, real question, attributable source, documented fact, photograph with a story, or genuine uncertainty or disagreement.

Fiction must also have a human anchor. That may be observed behavior, a remembered place, a sensory detail, a real emotional contradiction, or a social situation with consequences beyond the premise.

How we protect the writing

Before a piece is considered final, we ask:

  • What in this text could only have come from this House?
  • Which judgment does its author genuinely own?
  • What was observed, experienced, or sourced rather than merely inferred?
  • Where is the real tension, uncertainty, consequence, or choice?
  • What will this allow a reader to notice, reconsider, or do?

If those answers are vague, the work is not ready, even when the prose sounds polished.

We also remove generic openings, manufactured uplift, unsupported claims, repetitive conclusions, and sentences nobody in the House would naturally say aloud.

How we handle images

The Nude House does not ban AI-generated imagery. We use visual rotation to prevent one technology or style from becoming automatic.

Our working mix favors:

  • human photography, including Marc’s photographs, permissioned contributions, and credited free photography
  • AI-generated or commissioned illustration when fiction or an imagined scene calls for it
  • typography, editorial design, diagrams, maps, and archive material
  • occasional image-free publication when the writing should stand alone

We do not use AI-generated headers on consecutive posts. We prefer no image to a generic or misleading one.

Human photographs are credited as a House practice even when the source licence makes attribution optional. We retain source and licence information internally. We do not use a recognizable person’s photograph to imply that the person is a naturist, reader, subscriber, or supporter without permission for that context.

When a published visual is substantially AI-generated, we identify it as an AI-assisted illustration. We do not present generated imagery as documentary photography.

Editorial responsibility and correction

AI assistance does not reduce our responsibility for accuracy, tone, dignity, copyright, privacy, or naturist credibility.

Reader criticism has helped us sharpen this policy. When someone says that a passage or image feels artificial, generic, or false, we would rather examine the specific example than defend technology in the abstract.

We may disagree with criticism, but we will not dismiss a valid authenticity concern simply because AI was only one part of the workflow.

Our public promise

The Nude House is a human-led naturist publishing house. We use AI where it reduces mechanical work or supports a deliberate creative choice. We draw the line where assistance begins to replace observation, evidence, conviction, or responsibility.

The purpose of the House remains human: to understand naturist life, describe it truthfully, help others enter it with confidence, and build a body of writing worth keeping.

If a published passage or image appears to fall short of this policy, please identify the specific example when you contact us. We will read it carefully.
